A Grown Up Take On Your Easter Best
When I was little, each Easter morning I’d rush downstairs to see what the big bunny had left hidden around our living room. I would also find my “Sunday Best” outfit waiting for me too! I loved this tradition of having a brand new outfit to wear each Easter — usually to brunch, or church, or to visit with family.
My daughter Gretchen, who turned six this winter, has been enjoying a similar tradition with one of her grandmas. Each Spring, grandma picks out a special Easter dress, which inevitably becomes G’s favourite dress for the rest of the year.
Now that I’m a mama, my “Easter Best” isn’t quite what it was when I was little — not quite as many ruffles, anyhow! With Easter coming up just around the bend, I thought I might put together a few of my favourite “grown up” Easter outfits, inspired by the pastel hues of the season!
My favourite thing about the Pina Lace Dress is the cheeky pineapple print, which we’re seeing a lot of this season and coming into summer, for sure. Pineapples are apparently all the rage — which is fine by me. I can’t eat them (they hurt my mouth!) but I can wear them!
The white hem on this Botanical Garden Printed Dress is just the right touch. I love the draped feeling of this one, along with the cute button detail at the back. Simple and feminine.
The Martina Printed Dress has a beautiful yoke detail and I love the colour combination here. I feel like it might be a bit short, depending on how tall you are, but I’d pair it with tights anyhow just ’cause I love them.
The Peachtree Dress not only has an adorable name, but it’s quite lovely too! I have a feeling I’d turn into a kid again in this dress — spinning to make it twirl out, of course!
Fantastic colour and details, this Babydoll Swing Tunic would be great with a pair of tights or even over skinny jeans, which is exactly how I’d wear it. Dark denim and excellent boots.
I’ll forever be a fan of the maxi-dress. I love the comfort, the simplicity, and the ease of wearing a piece like this Carolina K Nathalie Dress. Pop it on and you’re ready to go!
