Fun Summer Ideas

Many of us don’t get the extreme pleasure of beautiful (or almost beautiful) weather all year long…most of us are coming out of a LONG, snowy, and COLD winter. The beautiful weather is teasing us, with a few days here and a few days there, but soon it will be OURS to keep, for a few months anyway!

Every Spring I like to sit down with the kids and the hubby and make a list of things we want to do before Fall is upon us again.

We all put down a few ideas (mommy and daddy get veto power, because going to Disney World isn’t something we can do on a whim…every Summer…nor is swimming with the dolphins, when you live in Ohio…lol)

You can limit the #, maybe 1 per week of Summer or whatever you see fit.

And try your hardest to do them all!

A few that were on our list last Summer, that were fun:

*learn to play jacks
*dance in the rain
*plant flowers and watch them grow
*find tadpoles and watch them grow (ours died the day after they became mini frogs…it was fun to watch all the stages, but very sad for the kids to see them die, so beware)
*visit at least 5 new ice cream shops
*fly a kite

Those are just a few, share some interesting things that you come up with!

About Donna Schuster
My name is Donna Schuster. I live in Ohio. I am mom to a 10 year old girl and a 6 year old boy. I am now a stay at home mom with no kids at home=) My husband of 9 years owns a company and works on slate & tile roofs, so I stay busy being his secretary, accountant, paper pusher and anything else he may need. We were able to buy our first home in January 2009! And now with all my free time I am going to start painting and decorating!! I love to blog at Blessings of Love. I would love to get to know you so stop on buy and let me know where I can find you! I like to scrapbook, although I am VERY behind. I like to cook/bake for my family. I like to hang out with friends. My favorite show is House. Other than that I am busy dropping off and picking up kids from schoo!

  1. We do something similar; every yr we set goals for the new year. I have them write out what they want to BE (character they need to develop), DO (fun activities), and HAVE (personal accomplishments). During the year we’ll look at the goals 3-4 times. It’s amazing how much the kids accomplish-and yet they completely forget about them. They are now old enough to see the power of setting intentions and goals.
