Bananacado Baby Food

When my daughter started on solid foods, I wanted to try and make most of her food for her. It really does save us a lot of money. I read somewhere that avocados are very healthy for babies. They are full of omega3 fatty acids that are great for baby’s brain development. So I decided to give some to my baby, and she loved it! The following is a recipe I came up with that is by FAR her favorite thing to eat.
2 ripe avocados
2 bananas
1/4 cup cereal ( I use this)
pumped breast milk, formula or water

Combine the first three ingredients in a food processor or blender and add as much as the liquid as you think you need to make a smooth consistency. I put mine in a ice cube tray and then when it freezes, I take the cubes and put them in a big Ziploc, but you can serve it however you want. Once I ran out of it and I just mashed half an avocado and half a banana together. I just keep it a one to one ratio. My husband thinks it’s a gross combination but a baby doesn’t know it’s weird! And it’s very healthy. I bet your baby will love it!

Don’t know how to pick a ripe avocado? Go here for some great tips.

Looks yummy, no?

My children would eat anything as far as I would mix it with bananas! Green beans, peas, pasta and chickpeas, ANYTHING.
Other people would think it was gross, but I have 3 healthy good kids with good eating habits now!^_^

Yes, mine, too! I just about mixed everything together. Too bad they won’t eat food that way now!
