Care Package Ideas for College!
As I send my kids back to school this month — one in elementary and one in high school — it’s dawning on me even more that in just a few short years, I’ll only be sending one child back to school… and the other off to college. Which is a totally different matter.
For my mom friends who have experienced this, I’m hoping for support and lots of coffee, ok? I think I’m going to need it! I know that my eldest son, Christian, is going to succeed in everything he puts his mind to — he already does! — but I hope he won’t mind that I’ll still always be looking out for him back at home.
I know I’ll be the mom who send care packages to his dorm or to his first apartment and hopefully I’ll never embarrass him so much that he asks me to stop — but I don’t think that’ll happen.
I’ll want to loving pack up things like:
- His favorite snacks and other food that is safe to send in the mail
- New socks and underwear (we know college kids don’t always do their laundry in a timely fashion, right?)
- Gift cards for a coffee shop just in case he needs a study boost
- Batteries for his electronics
- Disinfectant wipes for EVERYTHING in his dorm room
- Razors and other toiletries that he’s sure to run out of
- And phone cards so he’ll always have minutes left to call home!
Actually, as the weirdly organized and plan-loving person that I am, I’ve already started stashing away some of the things I know he’s going to need in those college care packages. I recently spotted an awesome deal on Schick® Disposable Razors at Dollar General and figured there’s no time like the present to stock up!
They actually have a great selection of Schick® Disposable Razor products at Dollar General.
- Schick Hydro® 5 Razor
- Schick® Xtreme 3® Ultimate Razor
- Schick® Slim Twin® Razor
- Schick® Quattro®
- Schick® Slim Twin® Razor
If you’re grabbing a few packs to send your teen off to college this year, you can also snag a deal on razors for yourself (your legs deserve it!) and your spouse!
The Xtreme3 have vitamin e and aloe for a super smooth shave, as well as three flexible, pivoting blades, while you’ll want to grab the Schick Quattro for your legs — hello 4 titanium-coated blades for a close shave that you can feel! The Schick Slim Twin is a perfect pick for teens with twin blades and a push-to-clean mechanism for a simple shave.
It’s crazy to think about sending my little boy, who isn’t so little anymore, out into the world on his own — but little by little, I know I’m giving him all the tools he needs to succeed.
If you’re sending kids off to college this year, I’d love to hear from you! Tell me how you’re getting through it and if you have any advice!
