This week — for the first time in nearly three years! — I picked up my knitting needles! I think I finished my last project while pregnant with Gretchen, and I have no idea why I got out of it. I’m an amateur at best, but thankfully I’m surrounded by talented knitters (including one friend who just happens to own the sweetest little yarn shop!), so I’m hoping to snatch up as many lessons from them as possible. Now that I’m back into drooling over…

Imagine yourself at the mall doing your holiday shopping, when all of a sudden a huge group of holiday singers appear out of nowhere and start performing. That is exactly what happened at the Chicagoland area’s Woodfield Mall! With Director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon and Musical Director Paul Mirkovich at the helm, T-Mobile surprised shoppers at the mall with an exciting performance and updated spin on the holiday classic, “(There’s No Place Like) Home For The Holidays.” What a neat way to celebrate the holidays! My daughter loves to help me in the kitchen. She’s always up on the counter, whisking eggs, handing me utensils and is so interested in everything I’m doing. Last year for Christmas, I got her a play kitchen — bright red and retro. I love seeing her mimic my actions as we cook along together. If you’re in the market for a teensy kitchen, check out some of the ideas below!

Happy Halloween, everyone! The big day is here at last, and to be honest, my teeth hurt just THINKING about all the sugary what-nots in my house. Now, I’ve never been super creative about dolling out candy to my trick-or-treaters (re: open bag, dump in bowl, here you go!), but after seeing some of these neat ideas, I might just change my tune! 01. Break out the sewing machine to make these cute little candy packages.
