Top 10 Reasons Why Top 10 Lists are Dumb

Blog

You know what I’m talking about.  Those “Top 10 Bloggers” list that we try not to care about, but do. Here is why I think they are dumb. 10. They are biased. Should Mom Bloggers Discuss Their Income and What is the Industry Standard?

two happy young girlfriends talking over white

If I hear it one more time, I’m gonna scream. IF YOU DON’T KNOW HOW MUCH BLOGGERS ARE MAKING, HOW CAN YOU SET AN INDUSTRY STANDARD FOR THE REST OF US? I “get” this statement, but it also annoys the heck out of me because there IS NOT an industry standard for blogging. We simply possess too many strengths and weakness in the social media realm for black and white numbers. For example, Blogger A may have few blog subscribers and traffic, but is extremely

Mom Blogger Competition and Priorities.

Letterpress Blog

A few days ago, I was feeling a down.  This time last year, I had already traveled from Los Angeles to Orlando and back again for various press events, conferences, and consultation meetings.  I remember actually turning down invites because my schedule was so packed.  It was a great position to be in, honestly.  This year has been different.  Very different. For one, my work has changed.  Yes, I am still a blogger and quite busy as so, but my work extended beyond that after

Create an LLC Easily with LegalZoom

When I created Mom Spark back in 2008, I had no idea it would flourish into a real business. Although I had been a business owner in the past, I was still clueless about domains, trademarks, and LLCs.  It all sounded confusing, EXPENSIVE, and only available by hiring a lawyer. After creating my trademark with LegalZoom, I was

Meet the Mom Spark Media Team!

Last August, I took a leap.  I felt confident about the Mom Spark Media launch, but I honestly didn’t know where it would be 9 months later.  The announcement of the launch last year was greeted with mixed reactions, which planted a few seeds of doubt into my mind, but I kept with it. I’m SO glad I did. Mom Spark Media has grown.  Our mom blogger network grows daily, but still feels like an intimate, caring community.  Our members are positive, professional, and willing
