Dog Paw Print Cupcake Recipe
Made by the humans behind Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets is a comedy about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day. We don’t have a family pet, but as a parent I felt like our family still really related to the movie!
When Duke comes to live with Max, everything gets turned upside down and Max starts to not only act in ways that aren’t normal for him, but ways that are against his better interest. I feel like that’s such a natural reaction to big changes, especially for kids.
Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t just watching the movie for life lessons, I also really enjoyed the sheer cuteness of it all! But, one of the reasons I’m excited for the Blu-Ray and DVD release of The Secret Life of Pets is that we can have a home movie night, watch the film again and maybe bring up a few of those trickier issues with the kids.
I’m sort of torn between whether Chloe or Max is my favorite character. I love Chloe’s optimism and her surprising spunk in defense of the dog she loves!
But, Max’s angst is just so human and relatable.
In both of their honors I’m making Paw Print Cupcakes as a special dessert for our movie night.
To make, simply bake any flavor of cupcakes that you like, frost with vanilla frosting, then chocolate sandwich cookies and milk chocolate malt balls to create the paw! Such an easy recipe, but so fun!
The new Blu-ray and DVD release features nearly an hour of bonus content, including three hilarious mini-movies: the all-new Norman Television and Weenie PLUS Mower Minions which debuted in theaters and is now available to own. With voice talents such as Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, Steve Coogan and Albert Brooks, this is definitely a movie the whole family can enjoy together.
Check out the trailer for The Secret Life of Pets and plan your own night at home to watch it. Your pets will definitely approve of you watching it at home!
