One of the bonuses of visiting Los Angeles a few weeks ago was sitting down with the one and only Fergie!

FERGIE

It was surreal seeing Fergie walk into the room, honestly! I’ve been a fan of The Black Eyed Peas for years now and have always adored Fergie’s strong female persona. She rocks.

Fergie shared with us her inspiration behind her latest hit “L.A. Love (La La)”, which included growing up in Los Angeles, of course, and her travels across the world. She even sang a bit of “L.A. Love” for us in the room! Needless to say, it’s one of my new jams.

We also discussed motherhood and trying to balancing life, in which she revealed her secret weapon to keeping organized – iCal. That made me a giggle a bit because so many of use iCal, too, though it would seem Fergie would have something more sophisticated! The truth is – she’s just like any other parent when it comes to being overwhelmed.

So, what is Fergie up to now? Well, for one, she’s performing at The American Music Awards this weekend!

Fergie recently announced that she has been in the studio working on the follow-up to her 2006 solo album “The Dutchess,” which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 and spent 94 weeks on the chart. The album went on to sell 6.2 million copies and 28.5 million tracks worldwide and spawned three No. 1 hits on the Hot 100: “London Bridge,” “Glamorous,” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” as well as the Top 5 singles “Fergalicious” and “Clumsy.” Since “The Dutchess’” release, Fergie has also released two multi-Platinum albums, “The E.N.D.” and “The Beginning,” with The Black Eyed Peas– with whom she has sold 31 million albums and 58 million singles worldwide. The Black Eyed Peas’ videos have been viewed over 1.8 billion times on their YouTube channel.

The AMAs Show Will Broadcast Live SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on ABC!
