Homemade Menthol Vapor Rub Made with Essential Oils

Homemade Menthol Vapor Rub

Ingredients:

5 TB coconut oil
2 TB cocoa butter or shea butter
1 1/2 TB beeswax
30 drops Eucalyptus essential oil (Eucaylptus Radiata or Eucaplytus Citriodora)
12 drops each: Peppermint and Lavender essential oils
5 drops Melaleuca Alternifolia (tea tree) essential oil

Directions:

1. In a small saucepan, warm coconut oil and cocoa butter/shea butter over low heat until it melts. Add beeswax and melt.
2. Remove pan from heat. Let the mixture sit in the pan for around 5 minutes. This is an important step, as it allows the mixture to cool enough so that the oils will not be destroyed from the intense heat.
3. When the 5 minutes are up, add all of the oils to the liquid and combine with a spoon.
4. Pour the final mixture into a small, 4 oz glass jar - I use jelly jars. Let the mixture cool until it creates a soft, creamy rub!
