How do you make menthol rub?

  1. In a small saucepan, warm coconut oil and cocoa butter/shea butter over low heat until it melts. Add beeswax and melt.
  2. Remove pan from heat. Let the mixture sit in the pan for around 5 minutes. This is an important step, as it allows the mixture to cool enough so that the oils will not be destroyed from the intense heat.
  3. When the 5 minutes are up, add all of the oils to the liquid and combine with a spoon.
  4. Pour the final mixture into a small, 4 oz – I use jelly glass jars. Let the mixture cool until it creates a soft, creamy rub!

I love the simplicity of this homemade Vicks rub and I also love knowing exactly what is in it. I have listed the recipe below, along with links to the ingredients if you do not already have them on hand. Stay tuned for even more homemade beauty and home remedies in the coming weeks!
