How to Brighten Someone’s Day With a Card
Like most people, I play a lot of roles in my life.
I’m a mother, wife, business owner, friend, daughter, cousin…the list goes on. For me, one of the hardest things about playing all of these roles is making sure that I stay connected with the people who matter most to me.
It sounds weird to say in this day of constant digital communication. After all, I can text, call, email, tweet, Instagram a pic, or FB message anyone I want, any time I want. But still, I find it difficult to really connect with the people I love. I still love to sit down and have a long phone call or write a long letter, but it’s hard to find the time.
That’s why one of my favorite ways of staying connected is to send cards. I love to mail cards for birthdays, special occasions, or just to say hello. A card doesn’t take as long to write as a letter, but it’s much more personal than an email or text. Taking the time to stop and write out a card makes me feel centered and calm.
I know that I always love getting real mail (that isn’t bills). It makes me feel special and it gives me an excuse to stop what I’m doing for a few minutes. I hope that the people I send cards to feel the same way, too!
I also love to leave a little gift for my house guests when they stay over. A sweet card, candle, coffee mug, a comfy blanket, and of course, chocolates.
It’s important that my guests feel like my home is their home, too.
One of my favorite new sources for cards is the Christian Celebrations line from DaySpring at Walmart. This line makes other great items, including decorations, mugs and beautiful items for the home and office, special gifts and Bibles.
You can visit dayspringchristiancelebrations.com for to find out if Christian Celebrations items are available at a Walmart near you.
When is the last time you sent a card in the mail to a loved one?
