How To Celebrate Random Acts Of Kindness

If you are anything like me, you look forward to this time of year. The holidays are a warm reminder of all things good. Spending valuable time with family, baking with friends in the kitchen and unwrapping colorful packages are just a few of my favorite things this season brings.

I wonder, why does it take a magical holiday to remind us to be thankful? We are all guilty of it – racing through each day to meet deadlines, get the kids to school on time, grab a gallon of milk from the grocery store, the list never ceases to end. We get caught up in the hustle and the distraction fogs our gratitude. It’s sad, really, but does it have to be this way?

It surely doesn’t, and I feel fortunate to have learned about a campaign that one of my favorite brands – KIND – has launched that celebrates people who are #kindawesome.

The #kindawesome program helps recognize random acts of kindness and those who touch people’s lives in awesome ways. The businessman ceding his taxi to a pregnant woman, the person on the subway giving up his seat for an elderly person – moments like these should be recognized and celebrated!

KIND has created #kindawesome cards that will empower anyone in the KIND community to spread kindness. Available in digital or hard form, these cards not only recognize kindness in the world, but are redeemable for a KIND bar! I just love these cards! I have put some (as well as some KIND bars) in my purse so that I can access them while on-the-go. 😃

This movement has really made me stop and notice my surroundings, which has enabled me to slow down a bit. Life is fast and if we sprint through it, we will have missed so much joy and happiness. Let’s instead start sharing and acting in some #kindawesome moments so that the chain goes on and on and on…
