Interview With A Blogger: Maggie Savage, She Let Them Eat Cake
Good morning, Mom Spark readers! Today I’m totally jazzed to be sharing an interview with my pal Maggie Savage, a holistic nutritionist who rocks the gluten-free lifestyle and it an incredibly inspiration to me. Her blog, She Let Them Eat Cake, is filled with amazing recipes and tips from her kitchen! Learn more about this food guru below!
So, what prompted you to start blogging?
My husband convinced me to do it. I had been baking gluten-free goodies for him for almost five years. He felt it was time to go public and share my baking with the blogging world. I’m so glad he talked me into it. That was almost five years ago!
Tell us about your day job/educational pursuits?
I am a newly graduated Registered Holistic Nutritionist. I finished that pursuit in April and now I’m a full-time blogger, Nutritionista, and writer. It’s a pretty amazing gig and it lets me be available for my kiddies who are 5 and 7 (baby #3 arrives in October).
Where’s the farthest from home you’ve ever travelled? Tell us about your experience.
When my son was 7 months old we travelled to Switzerland to visit family. I was pretty nervous about taking him on a long plane ride overseas, but it turned out to be an amazing trip and I’m so glad we did it. While we were there we visited Italy and France as well. Lots of baby-wearing made for a smooth trip!
What skill do you hope to master over the next year?
I’m going to become a master momma of three gluten-free babes – while managing a new business and a healthy lifestyle. No problemo! Seriously though, balance is really important to me so I’m going to make sure I do whatever I need to do to stay balanced and healthy, and to keep my family balanced and healthy. That’s my first priority, always.
What’s your current favorite song/band? And what are you reading?
My current fave song is Dog Days Are Over by Florence and the Machine. I like to listen to it in the car and sing my heart out. I have a few books on the go right now: Salt, Sugar, Fat by Michael Moss, I just finished The Orenda by Joseph Boyden (I’m still mourning that one, an amazing read), and It’s Not About The Money by Bob Proctor. I usually have an audiobook on my iPhone and a couple of books on my bedside table.
Share three blogs you adore!
Only three???? That’s so hard! I follow blogs that inspire me. The first two on this list inspire me as a blogger (amazing food photography) and the last one inspires me as a homeowner.
She Let Them Eat Cake is one of those blogs I’ve been reading for years and I have the pleasure of knowing Maggie outside of the internet too! She my first source for gluten-free goodness and I know you’re going to love trying out her recipes!
