Interview With A Blogger: XO Sarah

Hello there, Sarah!

So, what prompted you to start blogging?

I was 13-years-old and bored haha Wow that was a long time ago! We had just gotten the internet at my house and I was stumbling upon these cool webpages on Diaryland/Blogger/Angelfire. Flashing graphics, dripping blood…super cool when you’re 13. I was instantly enamoured and began picking through code to teach myself to design, blogging was an easy extension of that.

Tell us about your day job/educational pursuits?

I don’t actually have a day job. I worked at a TV station for 7 years and in 2012 I left to freelance full time and literally ran away with the circus. I’ve been building websites for bloggers and small businesses as well as teaching and performing aerial arts for almost two years.

Where’s the farthest from home you’ve ever travelled? Tell us about your experience.

I’m a mega homebody, so I’ve only made it to California so far. Though I’m starting to feel the slightest inkling of the travel bug. San Diego was beautiful and my main priority was staring at the ocean and trying as many restaurants as possible. The zoo and Torrey Pines were highlights of the trip – wear your walking shoes and take the long paths.

What skill do you hope to master over the next year?

I’ve just launched a blogging community called the Badass Babes Blog Club + E-Course, so I’m hoping to nail down the best way to run those both as a moderator/instructor and keeping all the behind the scenes admin stuff on track. I’m researching as I can, but I know jumping in a just doing it is the best way to learn.

What’s your current favourite song/band? And what are you reading?

I’ve been listening to a lot of girl bands from the 90s lately. One click on Pandora and I fell into a deep and fantastic pit of Letters to Cleo, No Doubt, Garbage, and Hole. Currently I’m reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.
