Lenox Dinnerware in Downton Abbey Style
A few weeks ago, I discovered Downton Abbey and I was forever changed. I gobbled up Seasons 1 and 2 in only a matter of days, and then proceeded to watch both seasons again a second time! Needless to say, I am anxiously awaiting Season 3 and obsessed with everything Downton Abbey.
When I received a pitch the other day from Lenox that included the words “Downton Abbey”, I knew I was about to embark upon something amazing. I learned that Lenox had re-released the beautiful Autumn ivory fine china set, originally released in 1918, that is perfect for a Downton Abbey season 3 party!
About the Autumn Collection:
Originally introduced in 1918, Autumn is still one of the most popular patterns in America today. The Autumn collection of fine china from Lenox combines graceful and intricate artistry, a beautiful floral motif and the jeweled colors of autumn flowers. More than 300 enamel “dots” are hand applied to form the floral and fruit basket design. Diameter of dinner plate: 10 1/2″, salad plate: 8 1/4″, bread plate: 6 3/8″, saucer: 5 3/4″; capacity of teacup: 7 oz.
- Crafted of Lenox ivory fine china accented with 24 karat gold and enamel jeweling
- Made in USA
- An impressive gift
For my review, I received a Autumn dinner plate, salad plate, bread plate, cup, and saucer. Upon first glance, the pieces are extremely beautiful and well crafted. Picking up the plates, I could feel the raised designs of the dots, floral and fruit which gave each dish depth and exquisite style. Every piece had a shiny 24 karat gold rim, which adds the perfect detail to this elegant set.
My favorite pieces from the Autumn set are the cup and saucer because it screams English tea, which is so Downton Abbey. Now I just have to learn how to make a proper English tea, or hire a butler.
Downton Abbey Season 3 is set to premiere on the BBC in the UK in September, and on PBS in America in January 2013, so start planning your premiere party now! Visit www.lenox.com for more.
DISCLOSURE – I received one Autumn dinner plate, salad plate, bread plate, cup, and saucer in return for this post. My reviews and recommendations are always honest and true. Read Mom Spark’s full disclosure here.
