Let’s Form a Judgement Free Generation
There’s nothing like being a mother to make you aware of how much judgement is out there in the world. Having kids means that a lot of people feel free to tell you how to bathe, feed, and raise your children. As a blogger who sometimes writes about her kids, I get a heavy dose of judgement on a regular basis. I can’t complain, because this is a path I’ve chosen for myself and my family. In fact, I’m almost grateful for the chance to read other people’s opinions. I think it makes it easier for me to help my kids handle judgement and bullying when it happens in their lives. It also helps me avoid being judgemental myself.
Bullying, both online and in person has definitely been on people’s minds lately. I feel like even before the political season people were starting to talk more about bullying and the way it can affect children, and adults. The thing about bullying is that it can really affect your self-esteem for years. That’s why I think it makes so much sense for a company like Planet Fitness, which is all about looking and feeling your own personal best, to focus on ways to prevent bullying.
The Judgement Free Generation® is Planet Fitness’ initiative designed to fight the judgement and bullying faced by today’s teens. Planet Fitness hopes that today’s teens can help create a culture of kindness and encouragement. Planet Fitness is fighting judgment and bullying by committing $1.3 million in grants and donations to Boys & Girls Clubs of America and STOMP Out Bullying.
I have to admit, I already enjoyed Planet Fitness before I learned about this campaign. I love their commercials. I think I may have actually been to the yoga class in this ad.
I like their idea of “no gymtimidation.” I think it’s important that if people are going to try to feel better about themselves they need to do that in a judgement free zone. For me, this “Planet of Triumphs” really shows why having safe places to exercise is so important. Celebrating yourself is important, and the best way to keep yourself judgement free!
