Max & Huber Book Review

I was fortunate enough to read the new children’s book, Max & Huber by Dale Kilgore Jr.!

This book will immediately grab your 2-5 year old’s attention from the start with its brightly colored, 3D rendered pages.  Like all great children’s books, its story is simple, which makes it easy for your little one to follow along and retain.  I love books that make learning fun, and Max & Huber does just that.

The adventure begins when Max, the main character, and his green hat, Huber, open a “word chest.” Upon opening the chest, several letters pop out and scatter across the page.  Max & Huber then follow clues to create every day words, like CAT, out of the jumbled letters.  Your child can participate in the word creations along with Max & Huber, which is a fun way to learn how to read and spell.

I enjoyed Max & Huber and I think your child will too.  The book does a great job of using fun, color and adventure to teach young children basic, key words.  It’s never too early to introduce reading and with the artwork being very cartoon-like, even those who aren’t quite ready can still enjoy the images.  My 11 month-old even liked looking at the pages with me!  I look forward to reading more Max & Huber stories with him as he grows up.

Please stop by the Max & Huber website and order a copy of the book in time for Christmas!  Dale is offering a free poster download for readers and everything is $2.00 off now until December 25th!

Dale Kilgore has an extensive art back ground ranging from film and theatrical production to 3D digital sculpture and animation.
