My Favorite Family Summer Activities!
This post is sponsored by Capri Sun.
Now that my kids have finished up the school year, it’s time to settle into our summertime “routine”. And by “routine” I mean TOTAL CHAOS packed with all the memory making goodness that we need in our summer vacations!
I always look forward to spending the summer with my kids — even though working from home with two more people in the house each day is a tricky situation I’m sure MANY of you can relate to — because it’s in those short, hot months that you have the opportunity to go on adventures, be lazy if you want to be, eat outside when the weather is gorgeous, and just enjoy spending time together as much as you possibly can.
What does your family like to do in the summer? Are you all about road trips or water parks? Trips to the beach or to play mini golf? Camping, crafting, or napping in a hammock — hey, it all sounds pretty great to me!
A few weeks ago, I shared that I’ve joined the #CapriSunCrew which means I’ll be sharing our experiences with Capri Sun (yum!) over the next few months. This tasty beverage (which everyone remembers for its signature bag design!) has been a staple in American homes for YEARS. Capri Sun juice drinks offer up wholesome (and delicious!) varieties made with natural flavors and fruit juice — a great alternative to sodas and other beverages this summer.
I know you care a LOT about what you’re giving to your kids, so that’s why I’m excited to share that Capri Sun has been listening to parents from day one, offering up the ingredients that moms and dads want to see in products they share with their kiddos. Capri Sun makes their juice drinks without artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors — they’ve already added a clear bottom to their even stronger new pouch design so you can see all the goodness inside!
This summer, to combat a little of the chaos, I’m going to make sure we plan some activities that are close to home, or perhaps even in our own backyard! My kids LOVE to have a picnic lunch in the backyard just to shake things up a little. Instead of sitting up at a table, they get to sit on a blanket, a little closer to nature and my Charlie loves to sip his Capri Sun while staring up at the clouds or finding bugs to follow around the yard.
What I love most about Capri Sun, other than the fact that its original line does NOT contain high fructose corn syrup, is that it’s super portable and easy to toss in a cooler for a trip to the beach or even when we’re running errands around town. Keeping my kids hydrated is a big deal for us since the temperatures in Oklahoma like to break 100F rather often during the summer months. Making sure I have a tasty beverage on hand is one way I can ensure my kids, especially my youngest, will want to keep drinking and help keep themselves hydrated. The Capri Sun Super V, a Fruit and Vegetable Drink, even has one combined servings of fruits and veggies in every pouch!*
Stayed tuned all summer long as we share our experience with Capri Sun!
* Each pouch provides 1/2 cup fruit and vegetable juice, which is one combined serving of fruits and vegetables according to the U.S Dietary Guidelines (3/4 from fruit juice and 1/4 from vegetable juice). Be sure to make most of your fruits and vegetables whole fruits and vegetables.
