New Years Eve with the kids

post by Donna

We got sick of sitting around on New Years Eve since we had no one to watch our kids. Now that our kids are a bit older they can actually stay up with us! But when they couldn’t we opted to invite all our friends with kids over and set up pack and plays all over the house, and PARTIED!!

Now the kids are old enough they play all night!

Whatever stage of life you are in here are some fun ideas to have a fun party and/or just something fun to do with the kids!

  • A MUST: real or plastic champagne glasses.
  • Grape juice/7UP mix for the youngsters or the preggers.
  • Confetti!!! Kids can help make it…different colored construction paper cut or ripped up in bowls around the house or stuffed balloons for popping at midnight.
  • Sparkly stuff for decoration!! On tables, on clothing…etc.
  • Hats, you can get them cheap at Target and Walmart.
  • Noisemakers!!!!!! Buy them or have your kids make them! Some dried bean or rice in containers (try TP tubes decorated and sealed with duct tape on the ends-sealed with tape -use discretion with the ages of the kids)
  • FOOD…I have people bring appetizers or desserts, and I cook a ham…cheap and Oh so easy!)
  • Games…play lots of games!!

What do you do to make New Years Eve fun for everyone???

  1. The kids and I are heading out at 8 pm to play games and have lots of snacks with our church friends. Of course, they’ll be loaded up on sugar all night and probably won’t sleep right when we get home, but hopefully it’ll be a night they’ll remember forever. :)

    Happy New Year!

Awe, what fun ideas! I’ll keep these in mind once my daughter is old enough to understand the whole New Year’s Even phenomenon!
