No-Brainer Recipes – Quick and Easy Breakfast

I love our No-brainer Recipes, and I plan on keeping them coming. This is a guest post from my friend, Summer. These are the kinds of recipes I go for, easy, simple, & tasty. :) If you have a No-brainer Recipe you would like to share with us, please email them to momspark@gmail.com. We’d love to see them. :)

I can not live without Bisquick in the house. There I said it. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I use this stuff for everything from coating chicken to pancakes.

So here is one of my favs – sausage rolls. It doesn’t get any easier. All you need is sausage, bisquick and milk.

Mix the bisquick and milk according to the package directions for biscuits, roll it out and slap the sausage on it. Like this:

Roll it up:
And slice them like cinnamon rolls. I usually use my baking stone and slice a few, wrap the rest in wax paper in the fridge until we want some more, but this morning I needed the whole sha-bang so I did this:
Now eat them while they’re hot. Or cold. With jelly. Or not. Just eat them. They are delicious:
This was Mia’s pick for her first day of school breakfast and dinner. I just love killing two birds with one stone.

Summer, thank you so much for the recipe. I just made the sausage rolls for dinner tonight, and my hubby and son loved them. You can check out some pics, my take on your recipe, and another recipe I used for dinner this evening at http://marriedtothemd.blogspot.com/.

do you think that would work with that fake meatless stuff (GimmeLean)that looks the same as the sausage? Probably not as tasty though!

Looks delish:) We use a lot of Bisquick here as well since it’s dairy free. I can make all kinds of yummy treats for my daughter who has a dairy allergy.

That looks YUMMMMMY! I also do a similar recipe where I throw it all in a bowl with a few cups of shredded cheddar, roll into balls and back. MMmmmmm. Must go make some for lunch!

Guess what.. you can make your own bisquick.

Combine 4 cups all-purpose flour with 2 tbsp baking powder and 1.5 tsp salt in a large bowl.

Add in 1 cup shortening and mix with an electric mixer until completely blended with dry ingredients.

This will make about 6 cups of “bisquick” and can be used and stored just like the real thing.

It’s a great cheaper alternative and I think it tastes better good.

Thanks for the great recipe, I think my kids will like it, and I know my hubby will love it!

Those look WAAAAAY better than the cold cereal I had for breakfast this morning. Thanks for this simple idea! And by the way, I’m a huge Bisquick fan myself. I get the big ol’ box from Sam’s Club.

  20. Amy {Mom Spark/Mom Made That!} says:

Cher-I think you just follow whatever the temp is on the Bisquick box.
