Get Organized For Back To School!
While plenty of my friends to the south have sent their kids back to school already, we’ve still got about three weeks until we’re back to the whole school-day routine. This means I’m in the prime organizational frame of mind! 🙂
This will be my third year as the mom of a school-aged kiddo, which means I’m not a pro, but I’m starting to see what works for us. I know I need to plan ahead and I know I need to keep it simple! Does that sound like you too?
If you need some fun ideas to help you get organized for back to school, keep on scrollin’!
Create a homework station.
It’s easy for kids to get discouraged about their homework when they’re just not in the mood, but starting from day one with a cool spot in the house where they can find all of their homework essential is one way to set them up for success. I love this idea from Polkadot Chair.
Or a homework caddy.
I love this portable little caddy for all of your child’s cool school supplies and notebooks! What a fun way to keep all of their must-have in one place — and it’s cute! Find out how to make it over at Aunt Peaches. You don’t have to spend a fortune to get organized!
Make your own magnetic calendar.
The 36th Avenue has a great DIY for a beautiful magnetic calendar that’ll live on your fridge. It’s such a great space to use for getting the whole family to know exactly what’s happening throughout the month!
Pick out clothing the night before.
Check the weather with your kids, then decide what they’ll wear the next day or let them pick it out for themselves! Who cares if it matches… as long as they are dressed and weather appropriate, I say you’ve hit the jackpot! 😉
Plan lunch like a boss.
Last year we shared a bunch of really awesome bento lunch ideas from Following In My Shoes and they’ve been really fun to recreate! You don’t have to be SUPER fancy with your bento style lunches, but I’m definitely going to recommend pack them the night before. I always regret it when I wake up at 6.30am and realize I have to make breakfast AND lunch. Boo! (If you REALLY want to master lunches, check out Momables. We love this service!)
Master the back to school breakfast.

When your kids come home after a busy day at school and are asking for a snack (because they always do!) ask them to wash up with the new foaming soap from Softsoap before munching!
