Puppy Valentine Freebie to Color
When I saw these heart lollipop bouquets for $1 apiece for around 8 suckers I snapped up two with immediate plans in my mind… I wanted to have a cute character holding onto the lollis like balloons! I guess the thing I kept thinking about was that scene from Singing in the Rain. You know the one? Where Gene Kelly is dancing and spins around the light pole? And since I always love the idea of littles hand making gifts for others this all came together quite nicely.
Valentines don’t always have to give something big and fancy nor does it have to be easy but impersonal. This project is fairly simple. Print out sheets for the kids to color as they please. Perhaps their puppy needs a patch over its eye or polka dotted fur, as you can see mine needed a heart on his belly 🙂
Since coloring is so big right now I’m sure that the kiddos have quite a stash of colors and map pencils and markers and now they can put them to good use!
For this project you will need:
- FREE Valentine’s Day Puppy Printable
- Colors, markers, colored pencils, glitter, etc.
- Double-sided tape or glue
Grab the freebie (click the pic if you don’t have it, yet) and print out on card stock.
Grab markers, colors, map pencils, glitter and glue sticks, whatever makes the little ones’ creative juices flow.
Decorate as seen fit being sure to color the backside also.
Affix a small amount of double sided tape (or glue but tape will be so much cleaner!) to the longer arm.
Bind 2 lollipops together at varying heights.
And roll the paw around them so that your puppy “holds” them like balloons.
Now isn’t that adorable?
Remember to get creative. Puppies can be brown or blue or red or pink or whatever your child pleases! They even had lovely rainbow heart shaped lollipops in the same section at Walmart so go wild!
