Let’s Put Mom Back in the Photo

When I became a mom 16 years ago, I had no idea what I was in for. The first time I looked into my baby’s eyes, it was all over. I was forever changed.

Motherhood has been a roller coaster since. Lots of laughter, sleepless nights, kisses, and hugs. I would change one part of it!

Like most moms, I have taken dozens of images over the years of both of my boys from when they were teeny babies to their first day of school.

When I look back at photos of my kids over the years, I have started to notice a theme. I’m not in the photos.

I’m always behind the camera. I have a feeling that I’m not the only mom that has made this a habit, too.

Whether it comes from insecurity, not having an extra set of hands to shoot the photo, or just being too busy to think about it, moms are often not in family photos. That needs to change!

TAKE THE PLEDGE

I have recently partnered with CVS Photo on an initiative to #PutMomInThePhoto and I am challenging you to do the same. Moms are heroes, nurses and leaders, and should be recognized and honored for that! Let’s make a change by not hiding behind the camera in family photos from this point forward.

In honor of #PutMomInThePhoto, I am taking some special photos with my kids and creating metal and wood photo art with CVS photo. I cannot wait to see how it turns out. Stay tuned for my next post to see the results!

Disclosure: I’m proud to partner with CVS Pharmacy for the Put Mom In The Photo campaign. I am being sponsored by CVS Pharmacy for my posts and activities, but all opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.
