REELZ Channel’s ‘Autopsy’ Premiere: Remembering Robin Williams
This post is sponsored by REELZ; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
His was a voice I grew up with. His was a voice my children loved as he brought cartoon characters to life in a way that only he could. His was a voice that will be forever missed.
Nearly one year ago, on August 11th, 2014, the world lost a wonderful man who brought joy to so many. Robin Williams was an icon — IS an icon in my eyes and the eyes of so many others. We will never forget how his films made us feel. How we laughed and cried and laughed again. At the age of 63, Robin left this world and there will always be a space in my heart for him and others who turn to suicide to escape pain. It broke my heart to hear of the news. The man I’d watched wow the world in Good Will Hunting and Mork and Mindy. He made my children smile in Happy Feet and Aladdin. We rooted for him in Mrs. Doubtfire and cried tears of joy through his portrayal of Patch Adams.
There are so many of Robin’s films that I have watched again and again — and that my children will always enjoy. Now, it’s with a hint of sadness and heartache that we watch his movies but we’ll never stop. He gave a gift to this world and we’ll honor it for always.
We invite you and so many others who wish to celebrate his life and learn more about his passing to join REELZ Channel for the premiere of the Autopsy special on August 8th at 10pm ET/7pm PT.
Please remember that the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, available in both English and Spanish, is open 24/7 at 1-800-273-8255. This is such an important service and we hope you’ll freely share this information far and wide to help those around you.
