STAR WALK
The main fascination of Star Walk is that you can tilt you device upwards and it will show you the sky.
The latest addition is an option to share your most amazing Star Walk experiences on Facebook and Twitter. Let your friends know about things that wowʼed you!
Bookmarks allow you to create a selection of your favorite views – if you want to remember a specific astronomical event or just a romantic night – save it, add a note to it, and share it!
Ever wanted to rise together with the Sun? How about Venus? Star Walk Sky Live screen provides info about main planets of the Solar System.
It doesnʼt seem like much in a description. However, if you actually try looking at a bright screen on a dark stargazing night, your eyes will hurt! That is why we added a night mode, with dim red colors that take care of your eyes. Even the keyboard for star search is eye-gentle.

MY THOUGHTS.
Both of these apps were perfect for my 10-year-old son who is obsessed with science and astronomy. The apps make astronomy fun and beautiful, and the best part is they are educational, too!

As of yet, I haven’t really taught astronomy to my son at all… sometimes we like to walk around outside at night and look at stuff, but he’s not ready for the whole learning about space and planets and stuff. Soon enough though, and this app would be cool to start with.
On clear nights we will take out the telescope and observe the night sky.
We enjoy looking at the stars at night to identify constellations.

We haven’t gotten that far yet. But when the time comes I plan on investing in a telescope, and the we have a local observation center.
I love to watch programs about astronomy on The Science Channel and he likes to join me. He may not be totally aware of what is going on but it has to help

When we sit outside we point out the various constellations. If there’s supposed to be any planets visible, or a meteor shower, we’ll go outside to observe them also.
Thanks for the giveaway!

Family planetarium visits and also viewing the sky through the powerful telescopes at the science museum during evening hours have been key.

Books from the library!
My nephew is still a bit too young, but I always loved constellations and can’t wait to look at the night sky with him and teach him to spot them.
