Stop Sleeping Around! {big giveaway} #StopSleepingAround
How do you feel when you wake up in the morning? Well-rested? Exhausted?
Most mornings are tough for me. I have always been a light sleeper, especially after becoming a mom, and I do not always set myself up for a good night’s rest. I often head to bed still wired from the day and then toss and turn all night long. Some mornings, I just need 10 more minutes…
May is Better Sleep Month and I have partnered with the Better Sleep Council on a campaign that is focused on not “sleeping around”! By sleeping around, I mean those unfortunate situations where we fall asleep at our desk, dinner table or even at the movies. Check out the video below to see what I’m talking about.
There are solutions for this wide-spread epidemic. For example, do you have a bedtime ritual? As parents, we know that a bedtime ritual is key for getting our kiddos to sleep each night, yet we often do not do it for ourselves! A regular routine helps us unwind and prepare our bodies for sleep. If you are anything like me, you go to bed with your mind racing, which keeps you up for hours before you fall asleep. This is not a healthy way to rest, and with a little practice we can change our habits and receive much healthier sleep.
To help with your new bedtime ritual, we are hosting a fabulous giveaway for one winner! See details below and make sure you visit the Better Sleep Council on Facebook for more tips to stop sleeping around! Also, keep an eye out for a Twitter party hosted by Mom Spark Media on May 17th at 9-11pm Eastern!

In the laundry room. I had just brought my new baby home from the NICU and wasn’t prepared for the sleepless nights-I was sitting on the floor folding laundry as it came out of the dryer, it was warm, and quiet comfy! (Did I just justify why I fell asleep in the laundry room?)
Thanks for the opportunity!

I can literally sleep anywhere. The craziest place was at a racetrack during a race. My brother used to race locally when I was a teenager and we’d be there sometimes until 1 in the morning and a girl gets tired!

I remember when we were kids my folks liked to go play cards with friends/neighbors. I remember falling asleep under various coffee tables more than once lol.
Turns out I have a sleeping disorder and falling asleep anywhere, any time is a knack! Falling asleep when you do not want to isn’t fun(ny) though! I’ve fallen asleep at my keyboard (work and at home) more than few times. The “joke” that you’ll have key imprints on your forehead is not entirely true

I would so appreciate this I have a 20 years old who wants to stay out a little more than I was allowed, a soon-to-be 15 year old who is involved in too many extracurricular activities and an 8 year old that runs my entire household and how could I forget my husband that works nights and my puppy Troy a Westie Terrier that is non-stop.

The side of the bathtub! Whenever I was sick when I was little I would lay on the side of the bathtub, it was cool and it always made me feel better… I don’t fit anymore though

When I was a mommy for the first time in 1988, I was exhausted. My daughter didn’t sleep but more than 2-3 hours at a time, and I was like a zombie. I was outside hanging laundry on the clothes line and my husband was inside sitting with the baby. I sat down on the doorstep because my back was hurting, and leaned against the back door. Next thing I know I woke up falling backwards into the house..I had fallen asleep and my husband was coming to look for me! My head landed right on his feet! Thank goodness it didn’t hit the floor! My husband laughed and laughed but I was upset. He sent me to nap for a couple of hours while he watched the little one. We wrote about this in her baby book, she laughs about it today.
