Bittersweet Bourbon Truffles Recipe
It’ s that time again.
That time to say I love you with…food.
Because let’s be real. That’s the best way. Especially when it is homemade Bittersweet Truffles with Bourbon…and sprinkles.
Not too sweet, melt-in-your-mouth, and just hinting of bourbon with a delicate salted finish…
And these sweet little sweets only take moments to prepare, so you can spend time actually enjoying those you love. Or the truffles.
Because you should love yourself, too.
Bittersweet Bourbon Truffles
Not-too-sweet, melt-in-your-mouth bittersweet chocolate truffles with just a hint of bourbon.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours
20 ounces bittersweet chocolate chips
16 ounces heavy whipping cream
1/2 ounce bourbon [or rum, or use extra vanilla if you prefer]
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt
Sprinkles, edible glitter, cocoa powder
Place chocolate chips in a mixing bowl
In a small saucepan over very low temp, heat the heavy whipping cream just until tiny bubbles appear around the outer edge.
Remove immediately and pour over chocolate chips. Let sit a few moments until chocolate begins to melt and stir to incorporate until very smooth. Mix in bourbon, vanilla and sea salt.
Cover and refrigerate until set, about 2 hours.
When firm, remove from fridge and, using a small scoop or spoon, scoop out small portions and ball in the palm of your hand. Roll in cocoa powder or sprinkles.
Share the love.
