Thrift Store Treasures: Funky Bowls and Mugs

I have rediscovered an old love of mine – thrift store shopping!  Honestly, I haven’t been thrifting in years, well, really since I had kids.  This is probably because thrifting can be a lengthy process, with the digging and searching through piles of “stuff” and such. Kids are not the most patient when mama is digging.

BUT, a few days ago I braved a new thrift store in town with both kids in tow and successfully picked up a few funky pieces. I was specifically looking for plates/bowls/cup to use in my food blog posts and I was lucky enough to score a few. I cannot wait to share them with you!

I honestly don’t know what to call this, but it’s basically a large mug with a little mug (without a handle) that fits inside it.  Whatever it is, I love it!  Here is another shot:

RETRO DOUBLE MUG SET – $1.98

I love this tan pottery bowl.  It’s heavy weight and doesn’t have a chip on it!

TAN POTTERY BOWL – $.79

I fell in love with this little coffee mug (I’m a bit obsessed with mugs) the moment I saw it. So cute.

SMALL GREEN MUG – $.45

These brown glass bowls have little handles on them (why?  I haven’t a clue!) and they are just plain cool!

PAIR OF BROWN GLASS BOWLS – $1.58

This mug takes me back to the 1970′s.  So darling!

FLOWER MUG – $.45

I honestly don’t know if this is a retro piece or not, but I love this large brown glass bowl all the same.

LARGE BROWN GLASS BOWL – $4.98

I plan on having more posts like this one in the coming weeks as I rediscovered this passion.  Are you a thrift store fan?  What are some of you favorite finds?

Also, if you know what the double mug is normally used for, let me know!
