Tackling My Life List in 2014

A couple years ago, I created an official life list, and I have to be honest – it has been slow going marking off the tasks.

Saying that, here is a wrap-up of what I WAS able to tackle in 2013. Though a small feat, it was still a feat.

Hot Air Balloon Ride.

You guys, I rode in a hot air balloon! It was an amazing experience that I cannot compare to anything else. So incredibly peaceful, quiet and calming.

The Stoweflake Mountain Spa & Resort in Stowe, Vermont not only invited me to visit their resort, but to also ride in a hot air balloon during my stay. It’s a thing they do. Who knew? Read all about my flight in this post.

Two New States.

The hot air balloon ride also introduced me to a whole new state – Vermont. Before you ask, no, I didn’t try any maple syrup, but I did buy some for the trip home. It’s not bad.

I also had the opportunity to travel through Massachusetts, courtesy of CVS/pharmacy, for the very first time. Though short, I did see quite a bit of the landscape of the state, as well as some of the Boston area in passing. There is still a long list of landmarks and history to explore there, so I hope to make it back soon.

So, I’m officially at 27 states VISITED. Here are the states that I have remaining:

  • Alabama
  • Alaska
  • Connecticut
  • Hawaii
  • Idaho
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kentucky
  • Michigan
  • Mississippi
  • Montana
  • Nebraska
  • North Dakota
  • Ohio
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • South Carolina
  • South Dakota
  • Virginia
  • Washington
  • West Virginia
  • Wisconsin
  • Wyoming

So, what does 2014 bring? I’m not quite sure, as I don’t really set specific goals or expectations regarding my life list or travel, but what I HOPE for is that the trip to Costa Rica that I mentioned in my life list last year (still pending) happens and perhaps a few more states visited. In addition, SURELY I can squeeze in that In-N-Out Burger goal, too, right? That zipline? That needs to happen ASAP, too.

As for full-time travel blogging, I am working towards that one as well. Though a long term goal, I still plan on writing more travel content (every Thursday, here on Mom Spark!) on a regular basis and making a few new trips this year. My wanderlust has only be contained for so long, you know.

What travel goals do you have for 2014? Do they coincide with your life list, too?
