What Happened to Lindsay Lohan’s Face? Plastic Surgery Gone Too Far.
For reasons unknown to me, I have been receiving US Weekly in the mail for over a year now. For someone who is COMPLETELY out of the celebrity loop (and RARELY blogs about celebs), reading US Weekly has become somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine and something to, well, laugh at or make fun of.
OR SOMETHING TO COMPLETELY FREAK ME OUT, like Lindsay Lohan’s “new” face. Seriously, I about died.
On the left, old Lindsay (2008). The right, “new” Lindsay (2012). Um, why?
Taken from my US Weekly Mag. (dated March 19, 2012)
I am completely appalled, shocked and confused as to why Lindsay did so much work to her face, especially at such a young age. Personally, I am not completely against plastic surgery itself and have actually thought about a tummy tuck many times for myself, but wow. Just, wow. It looks like she added 15-20 years to her age, which I assume wasn’t the goal she was after.
What do you think? Do you think Lindsay Lohan went too far?

She looks about 45. She has ruined her face and sadly it won’t stop here. *sigh*

@Sheena, I agree. I wonder if her body image is skewed because she was a very attractive woman before. Very sad.
[Reply]
Whatever she did, and clearly she did something, went WAY too far! As it is, her hard-partying life the past few years has taken a toll on her. My gosh, she looks older than me, and I’m almost 40!

@Mom Spark, I totally agree!!
How sad, and what a crappy example to influential young girls.
She was beautiful before.
Now she looks like she has permanent duck face.

@The Maven, Yes, you are right about that. I wonder what she was trying to go for? Not at all being snarky, I wonder what her goals were for her new face?
[Reply]
This is so heart-breaking! She’s always been so pretty naturally. So sad that she would feel all of this was needed. So, so sad.

@Quinn, I totally agree. So, so sad and unnecessary.
[Reply]
I think this is part of her plan to “re-invent” herself and come back into the industry as a new person. Of course, prior to the surgery, she didn’t look very good because of her lifestyle…but I don’t think THIS was the answer. I saw her interview with Matt Lauer last week and couldn’t stop staring at her. She looks weird. And, oddly, it doesn’t appear that she got a breast augmentation, which she actually could have used, which I hate to say…her breasts are floppy and just hang. Why get the facial work and not the breasts? Heck, why even bother asking what her logic is, on anything she does?

@Kristin, It just baffles me. As I said, I’m not against plastic surgery in general, but this is just sad. Sad that a doctor would agree to such a major transformation, too.

Holy crap! WTF?
She didn’t look like that when she was on Dr Drew a few weeks ago. Horrible!

@Tanya @ Mommy Goggles, I have been hearing that she did look like this on SNL. I am always out of the loop and last to know anything! LOL

It is really scary that so many young women’s self esteem is wrapped up in their exterior… and that they go to such awful extremes to ‘improve’ on what was already lovely… and ruin it.

@Heather ~ Acting Balanced Mom, I completely agree, it is extremely sad. It is also scary for other young girls who see it happen.

@Amber, I’m clueless. She obviously thought it would improvement something, but I’m not sure what. Feel bad for her, really.

I honestly question that it’s all plastic surgery. Some of it looks like covered up signs of drug use.

Mom Spark replied: — March 12th, 2012 @ 7:09 pm
@Jenna @ For The Love of Baby!, Quite possibly, although her cheeks definitely look like something was done. Injections, maybe?
[Reply]
When she was on the Today Show with Matt Laurer (sp?) I thought her cheeks look different! They looked like hardened rocks actually. Nothing that I would ever pay someone to do for sure. But I am happy to hear/see that she changed her white/blonde locks to a ginger. Looks much better on her.
I really hope she comes around in the head.

That’s almost as scary as MJ’s transformation. Such a shame because they were both good looking people before the plastic surgery.

@Cat Davis, I thought about MJ when I saw it, too. Yes, I agree, both had good looks before the surgery. Very sad.

It’s a shame because I always thought she was pretty. The blond also isn’t doing anything for her! Have you seen the picture of her sister from last year?

Lindsay was so pretty when she was a natural redhead. This makes me very sad.
[Reply]
Are you serious? She looks like a totally different person.
[Reply]
That doesn’t even look like her! It looks like it should be her MOM or something.
That said, I agree with everyone that says she had natural beauty before.. and maybe not recently because of the way she’s been living but I’m sure she would have benefited from a healthy dose of eating right, exercising, clean living and that she didn’t really need all the plastic surgery (because I’m not sure that really helped all that much..) So sad. =(

@Amber @ Classic Housewife, Amber, my husband said that same thing! He said “Whoa, she looks just like her Mom now…what the heck is she thinking!?”

Don’t you wonder if this is a young woman in incredible pain? I feel like her life derailed before she even left the station, so she has no substantive “before” to return to. Does that make sense? Unless she gets some serious, long-term help – and offloads the toxic people in her life, including a significant portion of her immediate family – I fear we haven’t seen the end of the self-destructive behavior from this girl. And I predict a too-young end for her as well. It absolutely breaks my heart.

Funny you should mention getting US Weekly… My FIL is perplexed that he has received the mag for over a year too. He’s in his 70s and doesn’t watch TV or see movies. He wants to me contact them to cancel his subscription. I kind of enjoy reading the mag so maybe I won’t call and cance!

Yes, this is so sad!
I used to love all of her cutesy teen/kid movies. Even with all the drama she was going through, she was still cute. You could still see that little girl somewhere in there.. now, it’s completely gone! I can’t believe she did that to herself.
Makes me sad, too.

Yes, she has gone way too far, especially for someone so young & so attractive. Completely unnecessary. The other day I was watching her on That 70′s Show (I guess she was on for a couple of episodes) & she was sooooo pretty & now she looks so different. Its quite sad & puzzling.
[Reply]
That is truly sad. Lest we forget that substance abuse is a mask that attempts to hide much deeper and significant problems.
[Reply]
Honestly, I’m not a fan of US Weekly magazine (I only like their fashion picks and what not), because they’re becoming more and more like National Enquirer and Star Magazine, which both have been sued so many times that I’m surprised that they’re still in business. I think that is just a very unflattering picture of her, because US Magazine is good at finding the most unflattering pictures of celebrities to add to their stories. The only work that could have been possibly been done recently would probably be lip injections. She’s a very attractive girl, but the hair color and make-up she had been wearing the recent months didn’t become of her. Also, her face was a bit bloated for the past year (I think she would had definitely fixed that if she had plastic surgery, lol). This is due to a very unhealthy lifestyle in the past. So glad she went back to red hair, though. ; – (
[Reply]
She USED to be cute…
[Reply]
OMG. I cannot believe that is her! She changed her most defining and trademark features. I’m not against plastic surgery either, I had a breast augmentation at 20. Reason being I couldn’t find clothes because I had a size 6 butt and AA boobs. LOL. Actually one was a B and the other a AA. Never regretted it, but wow.. I would never change so many things about myself! Even my chubbier than normal cheeks. I wish I was her friend, I would have told her she was beautiful and didn’t need to do that. Sad
[Reply]
I think she was prettier before!
[Reply]
My husband just saw her on TV a few days ago and said “Eww!” because she looks so different. Honestly, I think she looked best when she was a redhead and had a little more meat on her bones.

@Melanie Edwards Ella Media & ModernMami.com, I agree, Melanie. It isn’t that she isn’t attractive now, but just doesn’t look like herself. Maybe that was the point?
[Reply]
she was a really pretty girl before drugs and drinking got to her. now with the plastic surgery, she looks horrible.
[Reply]
It’s too bad that women think they need to go under the knife for vanity. To me it would be way too risky to do any elective surgery, and as a mother I wouldn’t take the risk to not make it through the surgery. And does it ever look natural? No.
I was stunned to find out that so many moms would get implants after breastfeeding! http://dagmarbleasdale.com/2011/06/boob-job-after-breastfeeding/ I wrote: “I think it’s a sad commentary on our society that so many moms feel the need to “fix” their bodies after having children to feel better about themselves. As if moms are damaged goods.”

Mom Spark replied: — March 14th, 2012 @ 8:59 am
@Dagmar ~ Dagmar’s momsense, Very good point, Dagmar. For me, I don’t look at my stomach as damaged goods, but a stomach that was stretched and scarred from pregnancy. I have extra skin now, much like a person who went through weight loss and has extra skin hanging. I suppose I look at some plastic surgery as reconstructive surgery more than elective. I totally see your point though and think plastic surgery can be taken advantage of, to a fault.
[Reply]
I agree, she looks older and very much different. She’s prettier before the plastic surgery.
[Reply]
I saw her on the Today Show and I thought it looked like she’d had something done. It’s just really sad. The little girl we all loved on Parent Trap is in there somewhere, perhaps dying to get out and grow up…. I just don’t understand why she’d want to change; she was so beautiful (despite the drugs). Now she really does look 10 times older and she doesn’t even look like herself. Maybe she’s looking for a fresh start…. I don’t know. Not my place to judge, but I do think it’s very sad.
[Reply]
That is one sad, insecure person right there. Are you sure it’s still Lindsey? Oh, man, she was already fine before and now it’s just all wrong.
[Reply]
Uh, she wanted to be famous. She did this to herself. We all know what happens when fame gets the best of you.
[Reply]
I think she got so much surgery to cover up what drug use had done to her face…if you look at photos from just a year or two ago, you’ll see that her nose began to droop (like cocaine users usually do, as it eats their septum/cartilage) and she began looking very rugged and slightly sagged, which happens to drug users over time. She began looking very old from all the drinking/drug use, and I think the plastic surgery was her attempt to try and “fix” the damage…clearly, it did more bad than good. Sad.
[Reply]
What a pathetic comment. Leave it to another women to a start a thread to find faults or criticisms to another woman.

That girl will just never learn! Whatever she did went wrong that’s for sure.

I saw a picture of her recently and I didn’t notice the plastic surgery changes nearly as much as the premature aging. I feel very bad for this girl. She came from a seriously screwed up family and I hope she one day finds the strength to overcome that burden and make safe and healthy choices. I can’t think of her without being sad.
