Win a Trip to Africa with Naledi, the Baby Elephant
This post is sponsored by Vulcan Productions and the National Wildlife Federation.
If there’s one thing that my international travels have taught me, it’s that there is so much that I don’t know about the world.
And, to be 100% honest, some of those things are topics that I don’t want to know, but I absolutely must.
This is why travel is so important to me. This is why sharing these experiences with my readers means something. This is why my kids must be a part of this knowledge, too.
Paul Allen believes in world change, too, and through his philanthropic work, he’s working toward just that. His recent initiative is the Great Elephant Census, which works to bring awareness and action to saving the African elephant.
Why? Because African elephants are in more danger than ever of being poached. Beautiful, majestic elephants. Elephants like Naledi.
Naledi is a baby elephant that was born into a rescue camp in the Botswana wilderness. At only one month, she was suddenly orphaned. Dedicated caretakers rallied to adopt her, saving her life and reintroducing her to the elephant herd that had forgotten her.
She was a lucky one. Not all are so lucky.
And? Naledi wants to meet you.
Yes, you read that correctly. You have a chance to meet Naledi IN Africa. In fact, your whole family has the chance to do so through the Every Elephant Counts Contest!
THE EVERY ELEPHANT COUNTS CONTEST SCOOP
Through the Every Elephant Counts Contest, students ages 9-18 have the opportunity to win a trip for three to Africa to meet Naledi, the baby elephant I mentioned above. Courtesy of Paul Allen’s production company, Vulcan Productions, and the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), this contest encourages students to learn, explore and DREAM BIG when it comes to protecting wildlife and elephants.
After submission, a panel of judges will deliberate and choose the winning idea. Entries will be judged on originality, so the age of the child will not play a factor in the ultimate decision. Ideas just need to be honest and true from the heart.
The grand prize winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip for three that includes himself/herself, their sponsoring adult and a friend or sibling. The lucky three will then travel to Abu Camp in Botswana, where they’ll get to meet Naledi and her caretakers.
