An Easy Way to Provide Light Under Kitchen Cabinets
This blog post was sponsored by Jasco. Thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have lived in my home for nine years, which is the longest I have stayed in one place in my 44 years on this planet. After many, many moves as a child and adult, this place is officially home and will be for many more years to come.
As my home ages, the more I want to freshen it up and add special touches to it. I have painted many of the walls over the years and filled each room with plants, art, decor, and lighting to make this space as cozy as possible.
Speaking of lighting, my biggest challenge with this home has been the lack of sunlight. I don’t have a ton of windows for natural light, which can make the environment dark and gloomy on some days.
One of these darker rooms is my kitchen area, especially my “butler’s pantry” (where is my butler with this pantry?) where I keep my coffee beans and machines. And this mama cannot start her day without her morning cup of java. The problem? Actually seeing what I’m doing when I’m making it!
I often wake up in the wee hours of the morning ready to start my day and at that hour it is still very dark inside the house. I often use the flashlight on my phone to find my coffee, filters, pods, or mugs because I don’t want to wake up any sleeping children by flipping the main light on. Parenting 101: never wake up sleeping children.
So…my friends at Jasco presented me a fabulous solution to this my dark counter space problem with their GE Premium Under Cabinet Linkable Lights from Home Depot and now I have PLENTY of light to brew my morning coffee!

HOW TO INSTALL GE PREMIUM UNDER CABINET LINKABLE LIGHTS
The GE Premium Linkable Under Cabinet Light Fixtures are easy to install. If I can do you, trust me, you can too!
Each fixture comes with two screws, so you’ll need your nifty drill to complete this project. Simply mark the spaces you want the screws to be installed according to where you put your light fixture, then screw enough to slide the lights through the slot openings and continue tightening the screws until secure.
Next, plug the light fixture cord into the unit, then plug into a power outlet.
Lastly, simply turn on the light! There are two brightness settings, so choose the one most appropriate for your needs.
Since the GE Premium Linkable Under Cabinet Light Fixtures are powered through a plug, you don’t have to worry about replacing batteries…ever!
Also, having the lights on during day has been helpful in brightening up the kitchen for cooking and baking, too. An example of the power of these lights…
