Margaritas have a special part in my heart, especially this time of the year when the weather is warming up. Add watermelons to that mix and I am in love!
This sweet, fruity salt-rimmed watermelon margarita will make your heart sing during Cinco de Mayo and all summer long!
3cupswatermelon - seeds removed and frozen for at least 30 minutes
1/2cuptequila
1/4cupsimple syrup
1/4cupfreshly squeezed lime juice
Lime wedge and sanding sugarfor rims
Watermelon wedgesfor garnish
Instructions
Cut out a small wedge from a lime and run the wedge along the rims of your serving glasses.
2. Pour the sanding sugar into a shallow bowl and dip each rim into the sugar. Set the serving glasses aside. (I actually chilled mine for 15 minutes).
3. Place the frozen watermelon into a blender. Add the tequila, simple syrup and lime juice. Blend for 15 to 20 seconds.
4. Pour into serving glasses nd garnish with a watermelon wedge on each rim.
