COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels. (and nuts if applicable)
SPREAD into a 9x13 ungreased pan. (I have greased pans in the past and it always ruins the batch, I never have a problem with sticking)
BAKE for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool and then cut into bars. Store in an airtight container or cover with plastic wrap.
