DIY Halloween Candy-Filled Balloon Piñatas
One of my favorite parts about Halloween time is thinking up fun, DIY ways to enjoy the sweet treats of the season.
My house is full of creatives so when it’s time for us to celebrate a spooky holiday like Halloween, there is no standard-issue candy bowl happening under this roof. Let’s not forget how much my boys are into ghouls and monsters year-round.
DIY Halloween Candy-Filled Balloon Piñatas
These ghost and one-eyed green monster treat balloons with Halloween candy are simple and fun for the whole family to make.
How to Make Halloween Candy-Filled Balloon Piñatas
- Halloween candies
- white 12-inch balloons
- green 12-inch balloons
- purple tissue paper
- black tissue paper (I used mylar tissue paper, but regular works perfectly)
- double-sided tape
- black Sharpie permanent marker
- scissors
How to Make Halloween Candy-Filled Balloon Piñatas
Stuff balloons with 3-4 pieces of candy.
Blow up balloons to the desired size (I blew mine up small, around half of the full size) and tie closed.
Cut 2-inch strips of tissue paper (long side so that they are long strips), then fold over several times. Cut thin strips, unfold, add double-stick tape and wrap around the balloon tie to make the “hair”.
Using a Sharpie marker, draw on the faces! There is no right or wrong way to do this, so have fun with it!
I love having these spooky, balloon treats around the house for a couple of weeks leading up to Halloween. The kids in the neighborhood love to grab one when they come by to trick-or-treat too!
