Halloween Home Decor Mantel Inspiration
It won’t take too much effort to turn your mantel decor into a great Halloween talking piece! Check out this Halloween mantel inspiration.
If you haven’t started decorating for the Halloween season yet, one perfect place to start is your mantel. Usually rather prominent, it’s a great focal point for your family room and easily changeable. No matter how you like to decorate it for the rest of the year, it won’t take too much effort to turn your mantel into a great Halloween talking piece!
Here are some fun Halloween mantels that we think are fabulous!
That green is one of my favorite colors—a great one for Halloween! Think cauldrons, witches, Frankenstein, and zombies! This simple mantle plays around with some great black items to contrast the bright green and white features. See more at Amy’s Casablanca.
I might be in love with this mirror, friends. What a funky look! I’m also pretty smitten with the spider-sense and twine-wrapped pumpkins! Check out the look at Hi Sugarplum!
This is such a neat way to display bunting and photos—on an old shutter and window frame! See more from Kaminski’s Creations.
Autumn art mixed with skull and spider accents make this a transitional mantel display. Once Halloween is over, you can just remove the more spooky-centric items and keep the Fall aspect. Great work from Sweet Something Designs!
Those cockroaches add the perfect touch—and they give me the creeps, too! Find out more about what went into creating this design at Flamingo Toes.
Doesn’t that black gauze material make for an eerie mantel display? It makes me think of cobwebs and spooky abandoned mansions from the movies. My Sister’s Suitcase created this fantastic look.
There are many great DIY ideas throughout this mantel from Sweet Bella Roos. Find out how to make that bunting in just a few easy steps, and see her how-to for painting up some very cute candy corn works of art.
Crooked pictures add a cute flair to this black-and-white-themed mantel by Tidbits & Twine.
I love that little skull garland! There are so many fun ideas I’d like to implement at home! The only trick is to find a place to store everything else that’s hanging out on the mantel right now! (So many collectibles end up there… antiques galore, folks.)
Here are a few of my pointers for decorating your Halloween mantel:
- Choose a theme that you can work around — Spooky? Silly? Vintage? Modern?
- Pick a focal piece for the mantel and layer smaller pieces in front and around it — try a big mirror or piece of art surrounded by candles, pumpkins, and other Halloween décor items
- Go beyond the mantel—hang garland, decorate all around the base of the fireplace (if there is one), add spider webs, bat figures, and more!
Have you started decorating for Halloween?

I love the black and white contrasting decor…especially the white pumpkins with the black ‘BOO’ written on them. So cute! I haven’t done any decorating yet, although I really wanted to make a Halloween wreath this year…
