No-Bake Simple JELL-O Pudding Chocolate Pie Recipe
This simple no-bake chocolate pie is made with JELL-O Chocolate Pudding, which makes it silky and has the perfect amount of chocolate flavor!
So, I am a bit freaked out that Thanksgiving is almost here!
I have just started to put my dinner menu together and when I got to the dessert portion I panicked a little.
What can I make that is simple to prepare AND delicious because I honestly don’t have time for anything else at this point? Plus, I don’t want to spend a ton of time in the kitchen when my family is visiting from out of town, so I need something quick that I can make ahead of time.
A few days ago, I shared a yummy dessert recipe for Maple Pumpkin Pie Bars, so I’ll be making that for one dessert, but I want to make an actual pie as well. My family also LOVES chocolate, so I wanted to tie in that somehow, too.
Simple + Chocolate + Pie.
The answer? A delicious recipe for a super, super simple chocolate pie that you don’t even need to bake! The key ingredient is JELL-O Chocolate Pudding, which makes this pie silky and has the perfect amount of chocolate flavor. Again, so simple that you can put it together in no time.
Enjoy!

what size Jello pig? Also, instant or cook Jello?
A small package of instant. 🙂
What’s a small package of cream cheese ? 8oz? And what kind of pudding? There should be a step by step direction on this recipe.
Yes – 8oz! I used instant pudding.
Also, not sure if you caught it, but there is a recipe card that you can print off to make it easier!
Can this pie be frozen? I’ve made this pie except with a graham cracker crust. It was delicious. I would like to make one to take to a friend but will have to travel about 2 hours.
I’ve never tried to freeze it, but I would think that it would freeze quite nicely. 🙂
How far in advance can this be made? I would like to make it Wednesday afternoon for Thanksgiving dinner.
I think it would be just fine to make Wednesday afternoon!

I’m giving this a try for Thanksgiving tomorrow. You just can’t go wrong with any kind of cahocaolate pie, right? Sounds so good and super easy.
I hope it turned out okay!
Do you mean add the pudding mix or make the pudding before and then add it to the cream cheese mix? I think i just ruined the simplest pie I’ve ever set out to make
Didn’t have a lot of chocolate flavor like I was anticipating.
I had to add chocolate shavings to the top!
My husband and I aren’t huge chocolate fans and this pie is perfect. Just a light chocolate flavor. Super easy and yummy. This is one of our favorite pies!!! Thank you for sharing your recipe!!!
Yay! I’m so glad you like it!
Does it mean add pudding mix or make pudding then add?
You need to rewrite this recipe!! You need to clarify to add the 2/3 cup of milk and pudding together then add it to the cream cheese mixture.
Can I use strawberry flavored cream cheese in the chocolate pie? My daughter says that would be gross.
I’m am ALL FOR experimenting, so go for it!
I am assuming you can use vanilla pudding and add sweetened coconut to make a coconut pie!
I substituted sugar free vanilla pudding and used fat free milk and added sweetened coconut! Followed your directions to the tee and it thickened up really quick and tasted great. It is chilling in the fridge as I speak! Thanks, not a Mom but I cook all my own meals! I know the sweetened coconut is not sugar free, but it taste better than unsweetened!
What a great idea!
The instructions I just read were very simple…How could you go wrong if you took the time to really read them? Sorry, I am old school and called Pay attention
The jello puding and pie box DOES NOT have directions on it for pies I have looked and looked There is for cake , pudding but no pie. Just going to wing it and add less milk
My filling is extremely stiff and not really lite and creamy….. I hope it will be ok…… I made a graham cracker crust from scratch for it instead of a baked pie crust. I will serve it topped with cool whip and a few mini choc. chips….
Any reason you can think of that the filling is so thick and stiff????
Thanks
