Disney’s FROZEN Movie Review
Disclosure: Disney sponsored my travel, accommodations and activities during my stay in Los Angeles. Thoughts are my own.
I have been sharing several of my moments from the #DisneyFrozenEvent over the past few days, but now it is time to talk about the movie itself, which I had the pleasure of seeing at the world premiere last week. FROZEN releases TODAY (November 27th), so I certainly do not want to give away anything juicy regarding the story or plot lines, but I am happy to share my overall thoughts.
The Story
Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna, and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.
My Thoughts
I was swept away to another world last week when I watched Disney’s FROZEN at the El Capitan Theatre in 3D. The animation was beautiful, with believable snow, ice landscapes, and Norway-inspired costumes and buildings. I really loved the frigid environment that Disney put together for this film.
In the story, Anna and Elsa are sisters, close at a very young age, but Elsa’s icy powers ultimately divide them. The movie goes through the journey of Anna trying to find the closeness they once shared, with adventures and plot twists (that I did not anticipate) along the way.
The movie has plenty of comedic moments as well, especially between Sven and Kristoff and of course, Olaf, the snowman. Even Anna is a bit silly and awkward, in a normal, real-life kind of way.
The soundtrack for FROZEN was fabulous as well – I had no idea Kristen Bell could sing so beautifully, and of course, Idina Menzel’s “Let It Go” is beyond amazing.
Overall, FROZEN is another Disney classic that can be enjoyed by families of all ages, though there are some intense moments with an evil snow creature that may be a bit scary for little ones. I also feel that both boys and girls would enjoy this movie, as there are plenty of male characters that balance the lovely ladies.
FROZEN opens in theaters TODAY, so make sure you check it out!

I wonder how others will see Marshmallow but, to me, he’s just misunderstood!

Join Elsa as she reads bedtime stories to your kids from her bedroom in the palace of Arendale! A new book will be read and posted every monday and friday starting in January, and yes Elsa wears normal clothes, because no one would want to wear a gown 24/7 in real life! Sweet and quirky, these tales read by Elsa will easily capture your kids hearts 🙂
