How to Make an Easy 2-Ingredient DIY Hand Sanitizer
As many of you know, hand sanitizer can be difficult to find in stores during the winter months of cold and flu season.
If you are have having trouble finding hand sanitizer on store shelves, making it at home is an option. It also saves you some cash!
All you need are two ingredients to make a straight alcohol-based hand sanitizer, both of which you likely already have in your medicine cabinet:
- rubbing alcohol (99%)
- pure aloe vera gel (alternatives for aloe vera gel: vegetable glycerine)
optional ingredients for scent: essential oils (cinnamon, lavender, etc.)
HOW TO MAKE A HOMEMADE HAND SANITIZER
To make, pour 2/3 cups (160 ml) of rubbing alcohol into a large bowl. Next, add 1/3 cup of pure aloe vera gel (clear or green) to work and combine thoroughly.
optional: add 8-10 drops of desired essential oils for scent.
Pour hand sanitizer into a pump bottle or into many small bottles.
Remember to always wash your hands with soap and water, too. Clean hands and good hand hygiene are best!
Stay healthy and safe out there.
