Space Lip Balm Valentine Printables
I remember having to pick out the most perfect Valentine’s Day cards ever. It was such an ordeal. I remember grabbing 2 or 3 of the boxes and looking at each one over and over trying to pick out the perfect ones. And then when I got them home I had to sit there and figure out which of each of the cards went to. Did my best friend get the best card? Or did I give it to the girl that threw up all over her desk last week and still cried about it to be nice? It was such a big thing to me and I don’t think that has changed one bit.
When I was at the grocery store the other day I saw no less than 5 little girls wigging out over Frozen V-Day cards. I have a feeling that a lot of kids are going to get the same cards on repeat for 2016 🙂 But then there were those kids who thoughtfully looked at their favorite characters with their faces scrunched up. I could just see the wheels turning in their heads like used to turn in mine.
I still like to give out little Valentine’s Day presents and when I worked in a big ol’ office I gave everybody a card. They had to go through the courier to other offices but I liked doing it. Nowadays I have far fewer people to give to which means I can personalize them up way more. This little project is perfect for that. These Eos lip balm cards are fab for your girlfriends or for your kids to give their very best friends. 🙂
For this project you will need:
- Free printables (save the pics below)
- EOS lip balm
- 1/5 inch circle punch
I don’t know about you but my home printer can’t print black for anything. It’s always gray with lines in it and it gobbles up all of my ink, too. It’s expensive and subpar at best. SO… I decided instead to design these as 4×6 cards so that you can have them printed at the photo studio. Since you have a bit of time you can actually mail order them for the best prices. I got 6 for $1.23 with tax printed locally at the 1 hour, which was pricier than waiting a bit. I was told had I ordered them online in the mail they would have only been $0.06 each plus a very minimal shipping charge – that was Walmart FYI.
So up there are the images you’ll need to print at your photo lab. On most computers, you can right-click and choose “save image as…” Put it someplace you can find it and order your pics online or transfer to a flash drive to use a kiosk at your pharmacy or big box store.
Now the main planets are placed to where you can get to them with a larger circle punch like this one here. 1/5 inches is pretty dang perfect.
Now I know my hands look pretty grody but I swear they are clean 🙂 I’ve been staining wood left and right and inadvertently staining my hands as well 🙂
Since I’m only giving these to people I know when I know they trust me enough to know I didn’t do something grody to the lip balm. I like opening the balm completely like this because it looks better, but you can also glue your balm in or on the cards, I suppose.
All you need to do is screw the balm back together with the card in between the caps.
Boom! Hey there cutie, you’re out of this world 🙂
And that’s all there is to that! I’ve done all of the hard work so you just need to save your pics and run out to your fave store to print these and grab some EOS lip balm 🙂 I’m sure your loved ones will love knowing you think that they are the balm (I totally almost did “you’re the balm” printables instead 🙂 Happy Valentine’s Day card making!
