Friends, there are only a few days left of August and I am SO SO SO ready for fall to officially get here.
The weather is already cooling off here in Oklahoma, which has me all kinds of excited for a great recipe for a warm hearty recipe using the Crock-Pot slow cooker.
A fall favorite around this part of the world (and I’m sure yours, too) are slow-cooked baked beans made in the Crock-Pot. Not just baked beans, though. COWBOY BEANS with bacon and bacon drippings. Yes, bacon drippings!

Going to make these for a picnic! Recipe does not say to drain beans.
This is my first time eating this dish. It’s more delicious than I thought.
Do you drain the beans?
Do you drain the beans. No mention whatsoever about draining?
DRAIN all bean EXCEPT for pork and beans. This recipe is incorrect. I found out the hard way. But after 2 1/2 hours on high and super watery I had to remove about 4 cups of liquid carefully trying not to remove bacon, onions and beef!
Once liquid was removed they looked like the picture.
