Small Space Craft Room Makeover
Last week, I shared my amazing foyer makeover, and I’m back again with a whole new room!
I have always wanted a craft room, but never had the space to do so. For years I have used my poor kitchen table for craft projects, which did provide ample workspace but offered no storage and I could never leave a project out for a few days without it becoming a nuisance.
Soooooo, I got to thinking. I didn’t have an extra bedroom to spare, but I did have a tiny space under the stairs. My husband had used it once for a small office but moved out shortly after because the space was just too tight for his desk. While the room may have been too small for an office, could it perhaps function as a craft room? Could I get a craft table inside comfortably? I had to at least try.
THE BEFORE.
Not only is the space small, but there are odd angles with it being right underneath the staircase. It didn’t scare me, though. I took measurements and started researching craft/sewing tables that would potentially work in the space.
I had worked with Sauder in the past and was fortunate that they wanted to provide a piece or two to my new makeover. And, guess what they had? A Sewing/Craft Cart!
Not only was the cart the perfect size for the space, but included plenty of flat working space and storage. It was the perfect piece for the new craft room! I also snatched up a couple of these storage ottomans for additional storage.
THE AFTER.
In addition to the craft table, I also bought a pegboard from the hardware store, spray painted it pink, and screwed it to the wall for additional storage! I love the way that it turned out.
My supplies are now within arm’s reach and organized! I also have a space for my greeting cards and plan on using the craft table to wrap gifts, too.
I added some fun touches throughout the room, like this unicorn hook.
The space is absolutely PERFECT for creating magic. I am IN LOVE with it! Now I just need to get started on a new project!
