Pin itWe are smoothie addicts in this house. I can put all sorts of healthy things into the blender (hello spinach!) and my three-year-old chugs it down, no hesitation. It’s a great way to get a healthy start to the day — no fuss, no muss, very little mess! And on those busy rush-out-the-door mornings? Very little excuse not to pop your concoction into a travel mug and ZOOM you’re done! Here are a few yummy recipes that I’ll be adding to my recipe box…

Pin itThis week, I started on a new road to getting healthy again. With this new lifestyle comes new recipes, so I will be sharing all of the delicious ones I come across along this journey. Today, I am sharing the “Better Balancer Shake” recipe from the Nutrilite weight management plan. I mean, is anything found in nature that is actually that colour? Anyway, I came up with a recipe for macaroni and cheese that is just as fast, even more delicious, and (to me) more gratifying. Now with the help of my KitchenAid Stand Mixer, I will probably be making these a lot more often. This recipe is basically the traditional Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe, but tweaked a bit and placed into a pan. I have found that the bars take less time, are less messy and taste just as yummy!

Pin itLet me preface by saying that this post is in no way sponsored by KitchenAid or a PR firm. In fact, for years I longed for the chance to review a KitchenAid stand mixer, but the chance never came my way. A few of my blogging colleagues did get the chance, which deepened my longing, especially when I witnessed the time the mixer saved with cooking and baking, as well as the rave reviews I kept reading. And then something wonderful happened. My mother-in-law…

Pin it During the winter months, I crave soups, chilis and stews. This past Christmas, my in-laws made taco soup for dinner instead of the traditional holiday menu and I have been craving it again this week. I finally made a pot on the stovetop last night and it was SO yummy and, of course, easy. (I only do easy, people)
